OUR STORY

Founded by Cher Parker, ONELOVE Foundation is born out of a mother’s love and a profound commitment to making a difference in the lives of those struggling with mental health challenges and homelessness.
Cher’s journey began with her son, diagnosed with bipolar schizophrenia at 17. Over the years, he battled numerous episodes then at 31, he experienced a particularly severe episode that left him lost and alone on the streets of downtown San Diego, forgetting even his own identity.
In a desperate bid to find her son, she embarked on a relentless search, putting posters throughout the city, and visiting the homeless areas day after day. But amidst her quest to reunite with her son, her encounters with the homeless community opened her eyes to the broader struggle of individuals and families facing similar challenges.
Day after day, as she searched for her son, she connected with countless homeless veterans, individuals, and families, each with their own poignant stories of resilience and hardship. Moved by their stories, her mission expanded beyond her personal journey – it became a calling to offer hope and support to those who had fallen through the cracks of society.
Driven by compassion and a fierce determination, Cher and her family joined forces and began providing food, clothing, blankets, and essential supplies to anyone in need. What started as a mother’s search for her son evolved into a tireless effort to uplift and empower the homeless community.
Thus, ONELOVE Foundation was born, with a singular mission: to transition individuals off the streets, provide them with the support they need to rebuild their lives, and empower them to thrive independently.
At ONELOVE Foundation, we believe in holistic support – from securing housing and facilitating mental health recovery and addictions to offering vocational training and employment assistance. We walk alongside individuals every step of the way, empowering them to reclaim their dignity and rebuild their futures.
